I watched a show about that once. There is a program in Texas providing classes for such children in human etiquette and behaviors that come naturally to the rest of humanity. "Smiling is generally a sign of friendliness." Poor sods.
See, now, I'm at the other end of the weird family syndrome. My parents are TOO good. No, really, I kid you not. "Zoe, we value your opinion, your thoughts, and your feelings...remember that we are always supportive of you in whatever you choose in life and that we love you." ...Alright, so, when I'm 35 and on the shrink's couch crying over my woes as I go through mid-life crisis...who the HELL am I supposed to blame for my flaws? I need more abuse. ;P
